Concrete

Concrete is the material that results from mixing cement with aggregates and water. When the concrete is fresh, it can be given any shape, and when hardened, its characteristics change, turning it into a material that is durable and that can support mechanical stresses such as compression.

Cement

Cement is a fine powder that is obtained by heating a mixture of limestone, clay, and other substances until reaching very high temperatures.

It is a material that reacts with water and acts as an agglutinative, possessing both adhesive and cohesive properties and thus producing very resistant compounds.

AGGREGATES

Concrete aggregates are products obtained by grinding different types of rock, gravel and sand.

Together with water and cement, they make up the trio of ingredients necessary to produce concrete.

Blocks

With a variety of shapes, sizes, weights and strengths, Argos constructs its blocks to meet commercial and residential project requirements. As one of the most sustainable and long-lasting building products, our block can even provide a significant contribution to sustainable construction. Our blocks may be used to achieve LEED points in the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.

Masonry

Argos’ Magnolia® Masonry, Florida Super Masonry and Florida Masonry Cements are manufactured using high-quality clinker and a high calcium carbonate limestone interground with plasticizers. These ingredients are accurately proportioned and controlled throughout the manufacturing process to assure a uniform product. Mortars made with Argos’ Superbond™ Mortar Cement and Eaglebond® Portland Cement/Lime excel in the key areas of performance, including bond strength and water resistance.
